Dr Chris Kates

Dr. Kates completed his Bachelor of Science Degree with Texas A&M University prior to graduating from Baylor College of Dentistry, where he received the distinguished General Dentistry Program Award, scholarships for public and volunteer efforts helping the less fortunate.

Dr. Kates' commitment to lifelong learning led him to complete the Advanced Education General Dentistry Program, which was a voluntary one-year residency focusing on full-mouth rehabilitations, esthetic smile makeovers, and implant therapy to replace missing teeth. Dr. Kates has also completed over 900 hours of continuing education courses and passed a rigorous six-hour exam en route to receiving the prestigious Fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry in July 2009. He continues to complete over 85 hours of the highest-level dental education courses annually by his active involvement in the Dental Excellence Advancement and Learning (DEAL) study club. Dr. Kates is also an active member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Atlantic Coast Dental Association and North Palm Beach Dental Society, and continues to work with "at-risk" juveniles for the State of Florida.

Recently, Dr. Kates received his Fellowship status with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists via training with the Godfather of Implant Dentistry, Dr. Carl E. Misch.  The awarding of Fellowship status is an honor bestowed upon a dental professional involved in dental implant treatment through efforts in advanced education, training, research and actual clinical experience.

Dr. Kates is a highly decorated Desert Storm Veteran who has completed his tour with the United States Navy. He has received TWO Naval Achievement medals as well as two Southwest Asia Service Ribbons for professional achievement and superior performance of his duties while aboard the USS Forrestal and the USS Theordore Roosevelt aircraft carriers. He was also honored with the Good Conduct Award, National Defense Medal, and a Letter of Commendation. After his active duty term, Dr. Kates continued with the Individual Ready Reserve for eight more years.

When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Kates enjoys spending time with his wife, Angela and their two daughters, Kireina and Maia, and attempting to fish -- if anyone out there is willing to teach him, let us know!
